Perched in the heart of Mont Sutton, this patio project perfectly embodies the balance between design, performance, and the art of living in nature. We met with Maxime, one of our clients passionate about architecture and the outdoors, who had just completed the construction of his patio made with our arlo hydra patio boards.
From the moment you arrive on site, the tone is set. The residence, nestled in a wooded and peaceful environment, invites relaxation. Maxime envisioned a true sanctuary; a refined Scandinavian-inspired space where every detail would be both functional and aesthetically intentional. His goal was to fully leverage his elevated patio and transform the space below into a four-season retreat, notably designed to accommodate a spa.
Such a project came with a significant challenge : finding a waterproof patio solution capable of protecting the lower space from rain and snow, without compromising the overall design of the property. After evaluating several options available on the market, few products truly met his expectations, both visually and technically.
Ultimately, it was towards the arlo boards, and more specifically the hydra collection, that Maxime turned to. This system offered him exactly what he was looking for: a waterproof, durable patio solution with a distinctive look. He chose the color Shoreline, a soft and refined sand shade, free of yellowish tones, which harmonizes perfectly with natural materials and the architectural style of the house.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Hydra collection made it possible to create an additional sheltered space, protected from the elements, without adding a roof or visible structural components. The underside of the patio becomes a natural extension of the home, fully usable throughout the year, while maintaining a clean, seamless finish.
